My Favorite YouTube Marketing Software

Here at Artist Shortcut, YouTube is a big part of our marketing strategy. It helps capture the attention of a bigger audience and allows us to repurpose our content – which is not much different than what most hip-hop artists should use YouTube for. So, instead of giving you more strategies on how to promote your music on YouTube, I’m going to give you a the software / tool that I use to help manage and grow our YouTube.

Why Use TubeBuddy For YouTube Marketing?

1. It’ Cheap

A subscription plan for TubeBuddy starts extremely cheap at around $9 per month. As an upcoming hip-hop artist or music manager, there’s not going to be a lot of money budgeted for marketing your music (if any). However, for the price of 1-day’s lunch, you can get 30 days of this software and all it’s features (which we’ll talk about below).

2. Tons of Features

TubeBuddy has a ton of features to help you grow your YouTube channel and promote your music. Now, if I’m being honest, I don’t use all of them – but the features that I do use are awesome. For example, when uploading a new video – I can research tags for my videos to help them get more views, use any templates I’ve created to save time filling out my video’s descriptions, see when’s the best time to publish my videos, and more.

3. Competitor Research

Competitor research is something that I’m big about (and so should you). I may be a marketer but I don’t know everything that works. However, competitor research allows me to learn from other people’s mistakes and get an idea of what’s working for them. Once I know what’s working for them, I can then figure out how it could be applied to what I’m doing.

Anyway, what TubeBuddy allows you to do is go to any video on YouTube that has its statistics publicly visible and see more advanced statistic estimates such as:

• How much money the video has made via YouTube ads
• Facebook shares & comments, and Reddit shares.
• How the video is ranking for the tags it used
• And more…

Overall

Like I said above, I’m not trying to be a salesman, but I do think this piece of software is extremely helpful. It has saved me a lot of time and helped me grow my channel faster than I probably could have done by myself. It’s not a “get a million views by pressing this button” type of software.

Honestly, everything you can do in this software can be done without it. But, it will take you a lot longer to do it. And, time is money.

So, if you’re an upcoming rapper or music manager and you have a lot of time on your hands that allow you to learn and create processes for all of the things you can do with this software, awesome. But if you’re like most of us who are too busy to spend hours trying to learn something that can be easily done for $9, then this software is for you.
